Overview
Edit
The Alchemist is a Magic oriented class which has abilities that strengthen his ability in ranged spells, as such, the Alchemist is good at using Staves, Wands, and Scepters. The Alchemist has the smallest health pool of the three classes and the highest mana pool of the three classes. This class is best used by dealing so much damage to the enemy that they don't have a chance to attack him.

Alchemists gain 40 HP and 7 MP per level. They have the highest MP increase per level (7 vs. 5 for the Destroyer and Vanquisher) and tie the lowest HP increase per level (40 for the Vanquisher).

In Torchlight II
Edit
In Torchlight II, the Alchemist appears as a non-player character. He has been corrupted by Ordrak's heart and is consequently seeking to destroy all Ember in the world in the hopes it will destroy the condition known as Ember blight. There is some sign, however, that his intentions are good--originally, at least, he was planning to only siphon small amounts of energy from each Guardian and use that to enhance Ordrak's Heart to the point where it could destroy all Ember. He makes the point in his journals that hundreds of people die every year from Ember blight.
