Experience, commonly abbreviated to XP, is a numerical value that is used to determine when you reach the next character level, also known as "leveling up".
Obtaining XP is a central part of the gameplay of Torchlight and Torchlight II. Each kill of an enemy will give the player some of it, while finished quests give even more.
Pets have their own experience and leveling.
