Example of Legendary Drop

Equipment with a Legendary status are introduced in Torchlight II and have the highest class of item quality in the game. Legendary items are color-coded red/orange and have specific names and enchantments. They are very rare and are generally more powerful than enchanted (green), rare (blue), and unique (gold) items.

Legendary items are either weapons or shields. When unidentified, they appear with the label "A Truly Spectacular Find!" if the item's level is under 100, otherwise the label will be "A Magnificent Artifact!"

Example of Legendary Drop

Legendary items can be acquired through random drops once the player reaches level 49 or higher, with Champions and bosses having a 1/2500 (0.04%) chance to drop them and other monsters having a 1/48000 (0.002%) chance to drop them. Legendary items can also be (very) rarely dropped from chests, and they can be bought from the gambler.

Almost every legendary item is named after a cult film, most of them science fiction, horror or crime films.
